JAMES MORRIS
James is Managing Director of William Purves Funeral Directors where he has been involved in supporting bereaved families for the last 25 years. He has been actively involved in the development and growth of the business but his passion has always been and remains, compassionate care for the bereaved.
Assisting families through the pain and stress of bereavement and easing their burden in any way possible is both James' passion and commitment.
After growing up and training as a Land Valuer in New Zealand, James moved permanently to Edinburgh is 1992 when he married a local and commenced employment at William Purves that same year. The Funeral Directing business is both rewarding but also challenging because whilst steeped in tradition, at William Purves we are equally committed to meeting the ever changing and evolving needs and wishes of our clients, whatever they may be. In any service industry, commitment to excellence and the pursuit of constant improvement are vital. These foundations and our daily living out of our values of; Compassion, Dedication, Integrity and Respect continue to be what makes us who we are.
James can assist with pre-planning or even just discussing wishes and exploring possibilities around funeral arrangements, all the necessary practical and administrative issues around the actual funeral and memorialisation afterwards if required. The aftercare of the bereaved is also something we are committed to providing advice or help wherever needed.
ON A PERSONAL NOTE...
On a personal note, outside of work James is very committed to his family and church whilst finding time occasionally to play a round of golf, badly, or enjoy walking in Scotland’s beautiful outdoors.
