Penny is a financial adviser and for over two decades has been providing advice in many areas of financial planning. She runs her own successful advisory practice PW & Partners Ltd.  She is passionate about finance – specifically about planning for ‘Later Life’ ...

...and is an accredited Later Life adviser and a member of the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA).

Penny set up and chairs the Edinburgh Care Forum. This focus is because Penny has a dedication to people and doing the right thing by them in everything she does – the Forum is about giving something back professionally. She believes particularly that any person having to pay for their own care in later life has the right to high quality advice from a trusted and experienced source, and so pulled together some of the top professionals in the later life field to create the stronghold of specialisms you will find in the Forum today.

She is skilled in all aspects of the care system and gives guidance on the simple steps that can be taken to ensure an individual’s financial affairs are managed effectively. Working closely with the family and/or other professional service providers, her main aim is to ensure that anyone who has to enter into long term care has a fully considered set of options. She firmly believes that this helps families make the right decisions about money, ensuring financial security and peace of mind for anyone who receives care at home or in a residential care home. Penny is very comfortable working closely with Powers Of Attorney, families, solicitors and the local authority to find solutions when planning for the longer term cost of care for the elderly.

Penny is also focussed on giving back through her charitable work. Currently she sits on the committee of 2 charitable causes, the St James’s Place Foundation – a grant-making charity concentrating on making a difference for children and young people and the 'Lunch with an Old Bag' committee, raising funds for the The Princes Trust Scotland. Lesser known facts about Penny include her love of music, fashion and any form of exercise. She also, on VERY special occasions, does brilliant ET and David Bellamy impersonations!

“For years Penny has been our port of call for financial advice. As a result of her help and advice with investments, the quality of our retirement has been greatly improved. In addition she has been key to solving a host of problems when my mother went into care and subsequently died, leaving a complex set of investments to be sorted out. Her team has got us great deals on mortgages and is now doing the same for our children.
